FIRST A301

The FIRST A301 is the new standard motor for FIRST Tech Challenge. Starting in the 2027-28 season it's the only legal motor for the program's next-generation control system. REV builds it under contract to FIRST, and I owned the mechanical design. It's a brushless inrunner with servo-style control. I packed it into a footprint significantly smaller than the old brushed 550 + planetary gearbox motor common in FTC. A patent is in progress.
